This program prepares students to enter the workplace as a versatile draftsperson capable of making basic design decisions and addressing future technological advances in the drafting and design profession. Students interested in transferring to a four-year institution are encouraged to consult an MCC counselor or academic advisor.
Why This Degree
Students who earn an associate of applied science degree will be prepared for entry-level positions as architectural, electrical or mechanical drafters. This degree provides the foundation for continued study at the bachelor-degree level and can be a stepping stone to landing a career as a civil engineering technician or architect earning $49,980 to $76,930 per year. MCC has several articulation agreements with colleges and universities, which define a method for transferring credits and coursework to another institution, while completing up to three years of study at MCC. This program articulates to Ferris State University.
