Climate Change and the Nomad Century
Join U.K. journalist and author Gaia Vince as she presents “Climate Change and the Nomad Century” on Tuesday, March 21, from 6 to 7 p.m. in room G129 in the Ash Technology and Learning Center (Ash TLC) on MCC’s Greenville campus. Gaia will discuss the acceleration of climate change in the coming decades and how people in affected regions will have to move their lives elsewhere. This uprooting of populations will require global cooperation and opportunities for the migrating populations and host countries. This presentation is part of the Stanley and Blanche Ash Lectureship Series, which features nationally and internationally-known speakers, whose presentations aim to increase awareness of key issues of global and domestic importance. It is funded by the MCC Foundation Stanley and Blanche Ash Community College Enhancement Fund. Admission is free and food will be provided.
