Explore “China in Africa and the Case of Ghana” during a Great Decisions Discussion Series virtual presentation March 22 from 6 to 7:15 p.m. in partnership with the World Affairs Council. Elizabeth Asiedu, professor of Economics at the University of Kansas, will discuss the history of China’s investment in Africa, the expansion of Chinese power, the African government’s growing debt to China and the resulting pushback. The event is free for MCC students and employees, but pre-registration is required. This presentation is part of the 2020-2021 Stanley and Blanche Ash Lectureship Series, which features nationally and internationally-known speakers, whose presentations aim to increase awareness of key issues of global and domestic importance.
