Montcalm County Youth Criminal Justice Camp


Youths entering 6th through 8th grade

Camp Director is Steven Schutter, Michigan State Police. The cost is $20. A signed waiver form is required for all camps. Campers should bring a sack lunch.

This camp is designed for middle school youth interested in learning about criminal justice and other public safety professions.  Students will participate in hands on activities that teach them about what those working in the field of criminal justice and public safety do.  These activities include handcuffing, defensive tactics, radio communications, K9 demonstration, mock patrol car stops, water safety, first aid, evidence collection, interviewing techniques and more.  This camp is run in partnership with Montcalm Community College and local criminal justice agencies.  For more information on this camp please contact Tpr Steven Schutter at schutters@michigan.gov or Mr. Kevin Sweeney at kevin.sweeney@montcalm.edu.
