MCC presents degree to Commencement speaker Judge Adam Eggleston

Montcalm Community College made a special presentation to its 54th annual Commencement Speaker, 64B District Court Judge Adam Eggleston, during the college’s Drive-thru Commencement on May 7.

The college awarded him an Associate of Science and Arts degree, with honors. Eggleston was a student at MCC between 1998 and 2001 and was only six credits short of earning a degree. The degree was awarded through a reverse transfer process using credits from his time at Michigan State University. Reverse transfer allows former students who have continued their education at other accredited institutions to transfer credits back to MCC toward a degree, certificate or job training credential.

In his commencement address, Eggleston joked that this year’s graduates were achieving something he could not achieve – earning a degree from MCC.

“Judge Eggleston, our graduates are not achieving something you could not achieve,” said Vice President for Academic Affairs Rob Spohr. “I am pleased to present you with an Associate of Science and Arts degree today which you earned through your hard work at MCC and MSU. Through your coursework at the university level, we were able to transfer credits back to MCC to fulfill all of the requirements of your associate degree.”
