In this program, students will prepare for a career in cybersecurity by building a foundation in IT with core skills that cover a broad spectrum of topics, including operating systems, networking, security, and device management. Additionally, students will explore the topics of scripting, data analytics, cloud computing, and project management. Students will be encouraged to take industry-recognized certification exams. Students interested in transferring to a four-year institution are encouraged to consult an MCC counselor or academic advisor.

 

Why This Degree

Students who earn an associate of applied science degree will be prepared for entry-level jobs in the information technology field. This degree provides the foundation for continued study at the bachelor’s degree level and can be a stepping stone to landing a career as a digital forensics analysts, information security engineer, information technology project manager, information security analysts and more. These positions make on average $85,090 per year and up to $135,700 per year.
