Centurions fall to No. 11 Grand Rapids Community College in Conference Matchup
The Montcalm Community College volleyball team competed in a Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Northern Conference match against No. 11 Grand Rapids Community College on Wednesday evening. The Centurions (6-8, 2-4 MCCAA) were swept by the Raiders (12-3, 6-0 MCCAA), falling 6-25, 16-25, 18-25.
The Centurions' best run of the match came in set 3 when they went on a 4-point run, to force the Raiders to take a timeout at 16-19. However, it was too late as the Raiders finished the set on a 6-2 run to close out the match 3-0.
The Centurions recorded 14 kills in the match with Piper Groesser, Kailey Brown and Maia Sexton each recording a team high, 3 kills. Tiana Whitacre led the Centurions with 8 assists and 9 digs, while Abbey Pohl picked up a team high 2 blocks.

The volleyball team will compete at home on Monday, Oct. 2, against Alpena Community College with a game time of 6:30 p.m.
