Centurion men’s team third, women’s team sixth at Muskegon Tournament
The Montcalm Community College men’s and women’s bowling teams traveled to Northway Lanes in Muskegon for the Muskegon Community College Invitational on Friday, January 10.
The men’s team had a strong showing, finishing third out of 10 schools with a final score of 4,343 pins. Kellogg Community College took the top spot with a final score of 4,457 pins.
The Centurions men’s team finished with combined games, taking the top five scores from their roster of six bowlers, with scores of 902, 955 and 993. Their baker block games, comprised of two combined baker games, in which bowlers alternate frames, totaled 375, 377, 406 and 335.
Individually, freshman Jack McBride led the Centurions with a three-game series of 613, bowling games of 168, 200 and a team-high game of 245. McBride was one of just five bowlers to finish with a series score exceeding 600. Following McBride in series scoring for the Centurions was freshman Bradon Krohn (571), sophomore Nick Pennock (Carson City, Mich) (559) and freshman Cooper Hoskins (Portland, Mich) (540).
The MCC women’s team placed sixth out of nine teams at the tournament with a final score of 2,678 pins. The Centurions posted combined games of 657, 534 and 546. Their four baker block scores were 242, 221, 215 and 263.
The Centurions were led individually by sophomore Zoey Guernsey (Ionia, Mich), who finished with a three-game series of 458 after bowling a team-high game of 177 to start the day. Freshman Madyson Hartman finished second on the team with a series of 433 followed by sophomore Aubrey Marlin (Lakeview, Mich), who finished with a series of 336.

The Centurions will travel to University Lanes in Albion for their next invitational tournament, hosted by Jackson College, at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 17.
