MCC bowling teams finish sixth and ninth

Montcalm Community College’s men’s and women’s bowling teams finished sixth and ninth in the Region XII meet at the Royal Scot Bowling Center in Lansing on Feb. 16. 

The men finished sixth out of nine teams. Jake Cutler placed 16th for all events (1,487), Ethan Hopkins tied for 17th place for all events (1,254), Nick Pennock placed 34th for all events (1,254), Jerald Brownell placed 37th for all events (1,193), and Lucas Hirkaway placed 54th for all events (802).  

The women finished ninth out of nine teams. Zoey Guernsey placed 26th for all events (1,157), Anna Humphrey placed 27th for all events (1,122), and Aubrey Marlin placed 31st for all events (1,037).    

For doubles play, Cutler and Hopkins finished 13th (1,080) and Pennock and Brownell finished 22nd (955). On the women’s side, Guernsey and Humphrey finished 17th (773). Doubles is a game where two teammates play under the same scorecard, taking alternate shots. 

The MCC bowling team’s final match will be Feb. 23 at the MCCAA Baker Challenge in Mt. Pleasant.
