MCC honors employee for her dedicated service - Alden Perkins Award 2024
Montcalm Community College presented its Alden Perkins Dedicated Service Award to Jessa Michaels, of Sheridan, during the college’s Dec. 13 holiday celebration at Flo’s Ristorante in Greenville.
Michaels joined MCC in September 2022 as a part-time Recreation Monitor. In November 2022, she moved into her current full-time position as Auxiliary Services Coordinator in the college’s Recreation Department.
While announcing the award, MCC President Dr. Bradley J. Barrick said Michaels received glowing nominations from her co-workers.
“Jessa is being recognized by her peers for her strong work ethic, professionalism and commitment to MCC,” Dr. Barrick said. “She is a very positive person and creates a warm and supportive environment where both students and colleagues feel valued.
“Jessa makes student life and club participation on campus feel energetic. She puts a lot of thought into creating events that are fun and engaging, to help students feel valued and included. And she does it all with a big smile and kind words,” he said.
The award recognizes dedicated service to MCC, commitment to high standards of work performance, care and concern for the public and fellow employees, and creativity and innovation. The MCC Board of Trustees initiated the award in 1986 as a posthumous tribute to Perkins, the college’s former Bursar.
