MCC’s men’s golf team places second at Mott Community College Invitational
Montcalm Community College’s men’s golf team took second place at the Mott Community College Invitational on Sept. 30 at Flint Golf Club, a par 72 course.
The Centurions had seven golfers compete with Zach Johnson (71), Mason Blair (75), Ryan Clingenpeel (77), Ethan Johnson (79), Jerald Brownell (83) counting toward the team score. Landen Dougherty (69) and Kenny Mitchell (79) golfed as individuals for the Centurions.
The Centurions had four athletes finish in the top 20. Landen Dougherty finished in 2nd place, shooting a 69 and recording a new program record. Zach Johnson finished in 4th place, followed by Mason Blair finishing tied for 11th and Ryan Clingenpeel finishing tied for 17th.
The Invitational consisted of 79 golfers and 12 teams from Delta College, Grand Rapids Community College, Henry Ford Community College, Hocking College, Jackson College, Kirtland Community College, Mott Community College, Oakland Community College, Schoolcraft College, St. Clair County Community College and Wayne County Community College District.
