Empowering Our Community: Exploring the Essential Services of Montcalm Care Network

Join us for our first MCC Reads 2025 presentation on Wednesday, January 29, at 12:05 p.m. in the MCC Library. Tara Allen from Montcalm Care Network will be presenting on the essential services their organization provides to support our community, including mental health care, trauma support, adult foster homes, addiction treatment and more. This is a free community event with refreshments provided.
Montcalm Care Network will be the focus of our community mission for MCC Reads 2025. We encourage everyone to bring in donations to support the populations they serve throughout our MCC Reads Programing, ending March 19, 2025. Frozen Survival: The Hidden Science of Frostbite and Human Resilience

Syreeta Drake, MCC Nursing Instructor, will be discussing the fascinating topic of how the body responds to cold weather on Tuesday, February 4, at 12:05 p.m. in the MCC Library. Drawing from the book, she will explain the stages of frostbite, what can be done after frostbite occurs, and other critical aspects of how our bodies strive to keep us alive in cold conditions, especially when we are unprepared. This presentation promises to be both informative and engaging, offering valuable insights into human physiology, the psychological mind and survival. This is a free community event with refreshments provided.
