Montcalm Community College offers several degree and noncredit programs related to health careers. 

Credit Programs

 

Registered Nursing (A.A.S.)This program prepares students for employment opportunities as nurses. It is designed to provide the credits necessary for eligibility to take the nursing licensure examination, and transferability for a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Nursing Professional track (A.A.S. leading to B.S.N.)This program is designed for associate degree Registered Nurses who want to further their education. This program allows students to take almost three years of credit hours at MCC and then transfer to A partnering institution to finish their Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Students must first finish MCC’s Nursing (ADN), A.A.S degree. Students are strongly encouraged to consult with a counselor each semester to make sure they stay on the correct path.

Medical Office Administration (A.A.S.)This program prepares students who wish to specialize in medical transcription and medical office procedures for employment or advancement. Students interested in transferring to a four-year institution are encouraged to consult an MCC counselor or academic advisor.

 

Noncredit Programs

 

Medical Assistant (MA) Training ProgramA Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled allied health care professional who performs administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of a licensed health care practitioner. Students will be qualified to work in outpatient facilities, health maintenance organizations, health departments, business and industry and insurance companies.

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Training Program

This noncredit program prepares students to provide patient care appropriately and safely. It combines classroom lectures, simulated labs and supervised clinical experience in long-term care facilities to provide the basic nursing skills and knowledge.

Pharmacy Technician Training PrograM

This noncredit program prepares students to work as a pharmacy technician in a retail or other pharmacy setting and to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s (PTCB) exam.
